This session originated from the 9th annual Community Health Worker Conference from Spectrum Health Healthier Communities. The conference was entitled "Community Health Workers: Lighthouse in the Community."

The goal of this session is to provide inspiration and techniques to help CHWs grow and develop their mental resilience. The ability to bounce back when faced with burnout, difficult clients and lack of resources is a critical link to being a healthy, motivated, and productive health advocate.


This webcast is intended for community health workers, students and professionals in the allied health professions, and anyone interested in the topics of emotional intelligence and self-awareness for relationship building.

  • Recognize the importance of emotions and how they impact behavior
  • Define Emotional Intelligence (EI)
  • Connect EI to the Community Health Worker and other leadership roles
